My name is Christy. I have always had a love for cooking. As a school-aged girl, I was always in the kitchen with or without Mom making something. Since then I considered myself a hobby cook and baker. I was in between teaching jobs, and decided 13 years of teaching was enough. In February 2017, I made a cake for my daughter's birthday, posted it to Facebook, got a lot of encouragement from friends, and decided to open up a shop! The Blissful Baker was establish in March 2017!
In August 2019, I gave up decorating cakes so I could focus my business entirely on cookies. I am also teaching again, but in China, not America. I begin teaching at 5 am each morning, online, to my little Bao Baos over in China and wrap up around 9 am. I have learned so much from them! I can't wait to take my family to China one day and meet some of my students. Fun fact! Most of my students have never been to the Great Wall, nor do they desire to. They say it's too cold and too much walking. Lol!
When I’m not baking or decorating, I’m wife to my wonderful, loving, and super supportive husband Jeremy. Together we have 3 beautiful girls. Kennedy is 11, Natalie is 9, and Lydia is 6. We have a 7 year old white cat named Charlie, and a 5 year old gray cat named Sammy. Sammy is my baby and loves to cuddle. Charlie quit cuddling when Sammy came into the family, but lately he has made Natalie his person and you can find Charlie on her bed most of the time. Charlie also likes Jeremy. Sammy only likes me, and runs if anyone else tries to be near him. Silly cat! In addition, we have recently added an Australian Shepherd to our family. His name is Loki and he is 8 months. You can find me walking him most mornings after I wrap up my teaching. He has a lot to learn, but is getting better and better with commands each day! Then on Sundays, you can find me serving at our church's cafe, which I absolutely love. It's my adult time, and I get to catch up with friends that come to get a drink or snack! :) I also enjoy reading books, coffee, cozying up on the couch with a good movie, scrap-booking, and crocheting (although it's been ages since I've done so.)
Thank you so much for supporting my business and family! ❤️ Christy
